Team
Andrew is a serial entrepreneur who has dedicated his professional life to developing sustainable materials using materials science and technology. Andrew is an entrepreneur with 34 years of early-stage experience developing specialty metal and ceramic products for a variety of applications. Andrew has been the leader on technology platforms that have led to the creation of 11 startups, leading to two $100M+ exits, and two corporate acquisitions.
Andrew has authored over 200 papers and presentations, has over 50 patents issued or pending, and is a member in good standing with six technical societies. Andrew was recognized as a 2009 and 2012 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist. Andrew has a Bachelors in Chemical and Ceramic Engineering and a Masters in Ceramic Engineering from Ohio State University. He was trained as an entrepreneur by Richard Kaplan of Ultramet, and Bob Hozle, of Delta/G, who were in turn sponsored by David Packard and other early entrepreneurial leaders. He has successfully bootstrapped and then incubated technologies for his full career, choosing the entrepreneurial route. His love is defining, developing, and incubating nascent technologies to commercial sustainability.
Joe is an applications engineer and technology commercialization strategist with a focus on advanced materials and advanced energy. Joe was a founder and Director of Technology Development and is currently the Chairman of the Board of Polyflow LLC, commercializing a novel process to convert waste polymer to gasoline and diesel fuel. Joe is a Director at Western Reserve Controls, a manufacturer of I/O and distributed controls for industrial applications. In the past, Joe was the Director of Technology Development for MegaJoule Inc, developing asymmetric capacitors for high power and energy, grid level electricity storage, Chief Operating Officer of Powdermet Inc., a nano-engineered materials development company, and has held executive management positions with advanced materials companies, Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics, Norton Company and Rogers Corporation.
Joe’s past technical accomplishments include the development of controlled dielectric, low dissipation, composite materials and constructions for RF circuits and antennas, the plastic ablative nose cone for the hypersonic Pershing II missile, and the development of the OEM radome for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Joe has developed materials and bearings for use in aerospace, military and commercial applications including the wrist and elbow bearings for the Spar Aerospace Remote Manipulator Arm for the Space Shuttle and wing bearing pads for the B-1. Joe led the design of equipment to measure erosion and wear of materials in molten salt currently installed at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
Anupam has been one of the first three employees for 7 separate startups in the materials, manufacturing, energy and technology space. With his team, Anupam has raised over $500 million in equity and over $300 million in debt and project financing for early-stage companies and renewable energy projects. Anupam has been instrumental in securing strategic and commercial partnerships and commercializing 20+ early-stage products in North America, South America, Europe, Middle East and Asia. Additionally, Anupam has been instrumental in set-up of the largest global metal additive manufacturing facility and the largest North American wrought magnesium foundry. Anupam has a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from University of Mumbai and a Masters in Engineering Management from Case Western Reserve University. Anupam is also the co-founder of a lithium extraction, a peer review platform, and a battery regeneration startup and is an investor in a gallium-arsenide solar panel and a battery material mining startup. Anupam has exceptional entrepreneurial zeal along with fundamental understanding of several industries and market.
